Linda Yowell is an architect, preservation advocate and educator whose award winning work includes townhouses, apartments and lofts in New York, new homes in the Hudson Valley and the Berkshires, and educational buildings. She was also a founding partner in Hudson Studio Architects, where she brought her expertise in historic campus planning, renovations and new buildings for cultural and educational institutions. Her designs seamlessly combine the best of modern living, light and space flow, with a deep understanding of the language, detail and craft of American architecture and a respect for context. She is dedicated to realizing the owner’s objectives through collaboration.
A graduate of Vassar College, she received her Masters Degree from Columbia University and in 2001 was honored by election to the AIA College of Fellows. She has served as President of the Center for Architecture Foundation, and Secretary of the New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, where she founded a program to support the teaching of architecture in K-12 schools. Currently serving as a Trustee of Village Preservation, where she co-chairs the Preservation Committee. She is also a member of the Society of Architectural Historians, the AIA, and the Professional Circle of the Landmarks Conservancy.
